The IGCP 636 Group meet annually to review the groups progress. In 2023, the group will meet at the University of Coimbra, Portugal.

Get to Know IGCP 636 & INRS
The IGCP 636 Geothermal Resources for Energy Transition is a research group that includes research institutes globally. This international research group has its origin within the successful experience with the previous IGCP project “Unifying international research forces to unlock and strengthen geothermal exploitation of the Americas and Europe” (2016-2019).
The students in the Geothermal Research Group at Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) in Quebec City, Canada are working in conjuction with the IGCP 636 reseach group to compliment the group meeting with an opportunity to learn about geothermal resource exploration in Portugal.

This trip is designed as an educational experience to learn about geothermal usage in Portugal. The students involved are graduate students in geothermal energy and hope to bring this knowledge back to Canada!
